Emily Pope (b. 1993, Canada) is a painter based in Toronto whose practice centers on the expressive potential of the female figure and the symbolic worlds that surround it. Through a recurring vocabulary of still life, emblematic objects, and dreamlike settings, Pope constructs visual narratives that explore longing, transformation, and the emotional terrains of womanhood. Her compositions offer a glimpse into the intangible, interior experiences of daily life, presenting states of reverie and introspection with clarity and sensitivity.
Pope holds a Bachelor of Design from OCAD University. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at Abbozzo Gallery in Toronto and Sens Gallery in Hong Kong. In 2025, her practice was in institutional presentations such as Liminal Oscillator at Simple One Art Space x Sens Gallery in Beijing and Unity in Diversity at Powerlong Museum in Shanghai. She has participated in major art fairs including Art Toronto, Art021 Shanghai, Beijing Dangdai, and Art Central Hong Kong.
Her work has been included in group exhibitions across Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the UAE, Mexico, and China, with presentations at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, Gillian Jason Gallery, Artistellar, Eve Leibe Gallery, and Cry Baby Gallery, among others.
